Lisa joined right out of high school at 17 years old and immediately was shipped to Ft. Jackson, South Carolina where she started her boot camp. Lisa enjoyed the military and running, push ups, sit ups and handling the extreme circumstances of the gas chamber, weapons qualifying and meeting a diverse group from around the world. Although Lisa was born in a very small town, she accumulated the culture shock of stepping outside of her comfort from the small town of Iola, Texas where the population is less than 500 people and including the cows.

Lisa was nominated and awarded the U.S. Army Meritorious Award Medal for her work ethic, dedication and commitment to serve the United States Army. Lisa served as a 76Y which was a Supply Specialist and Weapons Armor. Lisa was responsible for the personnel files, military personnel weapons and uniforms, and supplies. Lisa returned from boot camp and AIT Training to serve at the 449th Engineer Brigade for a few years and was quickly promoted throughout her tenure. Lisa was offered a full time position in New Mexico with a promotion to Sergeant of the U.S. Army at the age of 19 years old; however, after careful consideration, Lisa decided to pursue her degree and served the remainder of her 7 year commitment with the 449th Engineer Brigade and the 420th Engineer Brigade Division.
Lisa served in the U.S. Army with honors and recognition and now she serves you through Straight Talk HR Solutions is Veteran Owned and is the Best HR Consultant Texas. Throughout her military career, Lisa served every summer at Ft. Hood and other military bases to continue her training in her skills but also FIT Testing was required. FIT Testing required meeting so many push ups, sit ups, running, and weapons qualifying within a very strict standard of time which she accomplished successfully. Every summer, her unit would go out and work on an engineer project, whether it was to help build a bridge or be part of building a community. In the military, you trained and trained physically and on your assignments to be prepared for your daily assignment or your next.
Lisa recalls that it wasn’t always easy in the Army as you witness many people who would leave but they couldn’t handle the mental aptitude needed to train. “Although sometimes you fall, you always get up to serve another day” by Lisa Zurita.

The strain you put on your body from 4:30 am to night fall and beyond is not an easy task, from marching for miles, running for miles, carrying 30 lb backpack of equipment, marching the same speed to someone that is a foot taller than you at times, shin splints, aches, pains but it takes grit to endure and get up another day. While you are suffering yourself, you look out for your buddy to make sure he or she is not being left behind. Sometimes it is you pulling your buddy to move and sometimes it is your buddy who is pushing you to keep moving. Gaining 20 lbs of muscle from all the training was intense and best health and the leanest body fat. You learn to hate and love the intensity, the fortitude it takes for one to push yourself in the 100 degree heat to not let your squad down but not let yourself down nor your drill sergeant. The military experience is a great one that is a once in a lifetime experience that becomes a part of who you were, who you are and who you became. The good, the bad, the ugly, you became a U.S. Soldier of the United States of America and the pride that comes from serving this nation is priceless.
